Mary Sumrall Tompkins, age 82, of Woolmarket, MS, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 in San Angelo, TX.
Mrs. Tompkins was a member of Coalville United Methodist Church in Woolmarket. She was a Charter Member of Japhia Temple #146, Daughters of the Nile. She was also a former member of Order of The Eastern Star, in Gulfport; and White Shrine in Pennysylviania.
Mrs. Tompkins is preceded in death by her husband, William Dorsey Tompkins, Sr.; her parents, Lawrence and Viola Sumrall; her two brothers, Robert B. Sumrall and Douglas A. Sumrall; and her daughter-in-law, Virginia M. Tompkins.
Survivors include her children, William D. Tompkins, Jr., of National City, CA; Sandra T. Smith and her husband Kennan of San Angelo, TX; Donna T. Anderson and her husband Frank, of Gulfport; her siblings, John W. Sumrall, of Gulfport, Betty S. Blake, of Biloxi, Lawrence Sumrall, of Gulfport, and Leonard Sumrall, of Gulfport; her grandchildren, John L. Tompkins, William M. Tompkins, Wylie M. Tompkins, Gaila Klein Gregory, Chippie Lee Klein, Jr., Rachel Nicole Anderson; and her great-grandchildren, Brandon Tompkins, Jordan Tompkins, Elijah Tompkins, Wylie Tompkins, Jr., and Dalton Gregory.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 at Coalville United Methodist Church at 12:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
