Mrs. Mary Hale Shell, 88, of Henderson, TX , formerly of New Orleans, LA and Pass Christian, MS passed away on Monday November 3, 2008 in Henderson, TX. Mrs. Shell was born December 14, 1919 in Itawamba County, Mississippi.
She worked as a Personnel Officer for Public Health Service Hospital in New Orleans, LA and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Shell was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William E. Shell, Jr and is survived by her daughter, Linda Purcell of Henderson, TX; son William Shell of Jackson, MS; three grandchildren and their spouses, Donald and Kerri Purcell of Columbia, South Carolina, Dave and Robyn Purcell of Elgin, South Carolina, and Kim and Robbie Carroll of Charleston, South Carolina; and six great grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Wednesday night at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, TX.
A graveside service will be held at Gulf Pines Memorial Cemetery in Long Beach at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the cemetery with Rev. Ricky Ricks officiating. Pallbearers will be her family. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES, Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport is in charge of arrangments.
