Mary “MaGreta” Radau Rowlett, age 56, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 in Bay St. Louis.
MaGreta was born August 14, 1964 in Harrison County, MS and was a life-long resident of the Coast. She graduated from Harrison Central High School and later received her nursing degree from USM in Hattiesburg. She was employed by Memorial Hospital in Gulfport as an RN Cardiac Telemetry nurse.
MaGreta was preceded in death by her father, William “Willie” Radau, Sr; her mother, M. “Louise” Radau; and an older brother, William Radau, Jr. (Nena).
She is survived by her son, Samuel Rowlett; her granddaughter, Samaria Rowlett, of Long Beach; her sisters, Martha Thomas (Bobby), Louise Hensely, Gretchen Bravo, Patricia Steen (Alden); and her numerous nieces and nephews.
MaGreta enjoyed nature, traveling, bicycling, and searching for treasures at estate sales and thrift shops. She was a devoted grandmother to Samaria, and cherished the time spent with her. She was a loving, caring person and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
As we mourn her passing, we remember the love that we all had for her. She will be forever loved and deeply missed. The family would like to thank all those who offered their love and support during this difficult time.
Her visitation was held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Riemann’s Family Funeral Home in Long Beach. There will be a private interment at Dobson-Holliman Cemetery in Gulfport where she will be laid to rest alongside her parents.
In honor of MaGreta, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude or the Harrison County Humane Society.
