Mary E. Potts, age 75 of Gulfport, died on Sunday, August 5, 2007 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Potts was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland. She was a former telephone operator and recently managed the Alamo Plaza Hotel with her husband. She had sponsored a child through the Christian Children's Fund and she was a very loving person who would do anything for family and friends. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian. She enjoyed knitting clothes and donated them to charity. She was a former league bowler and she was an avid follower of the PGA Tour; she was a big Mike Weir and Tiger Woods fan.
Mrs. Potts is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald H. Potts. She is survived by her children, Ramona Hicks of Biloxi, Robert (Amy)Potts of Gulfport, Rae (James) Mock of Pass Christian, Russell Potts, Rhonda (Eli) Lane and Ronald C. Potts all of Gulfport; her brothers, Jack Neville of Bell Island, Newfoundland, Ray Neville of Sudsbury, Ontario; her sister, Patsy Neville of Cambridge, Ontario; her grandchildren, Diane Fanslau of Biloxi, Everett Mock of Pass Christian, Joey Potts of Gulfport, Michael Hughes of Gulfport, Tony Hughes of Gulfport, Nathan Potts and Camille Potts both of Ocean Springs and her great grandchildren, Brianna Fanslau and Carleigh Potts.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2007 from 6-8pm at THE RIEMANN FAMILY'S Riemann Funeral Home, Highway 49 North Chapel in Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Christian Children's Fund, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294.
