Mary Olson

Mary Ann Olson, age 87, of Biloxi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022, surrounded by family.

Mary Ann Olson was born on February 16, 1935, in Philadelphia, MS. She grew up in Meridian, MS. In her high school years, she was on the All-star basketball team and was the queen of the Calf Scramble in Meridian. She loved the outdoors, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, and birdwatching. Her grandchildren brought so much joy to her life. Mary Ann had a kind, gentle soul. She will be missed greatly, but we find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is now at peace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Rollins and Rellie Rollins; her siblings, Aline Cross, James Rollins, Carolyn Coker, and William “Bill” Rollins; and her beloved son, Victor L. Sekul.

Mary Ann is survived by 2 daughters, Martha Suzanne Sekul and Teresa Newman (Luke); son, Peter Jeffrey Sekul (Debbie); 2 sisters, Elizabeth Dycaico and Rebecca “Martha Rell” Wilkes; and 3 grandchildren, Jordan Barnett, Emily Sekul and Andrew Newman.

-I thought that I would miss you so, and never find my way. And then I heard the angel say, “She’s with you every day.” The sun, the moon, the wind, the stars, will forever be around, reminding you of the love you shared, and the peace she’s finally found. – unknown

A private memorial service will be held for family at a later date.
