Mary ""Jean"" McAtee, loving wife, mother, and ""Mummum,"" passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010, at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport after an extended illness.
She was born on August 27, 1933, in Riffle, WV, and was a resident of Gulfport, MS since 1965. Jean enjoyed spending time with her loving family. She was an avid bowler and was a member of several bowling leagues at Triangle Lanes in Gulfport for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Mary Stout; son, Raymond McAtee, Jr.; three brothers; and grandson, Matthew McAtee.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond McAtee, Sr. of Gulfport; daughter, Beverly Woods of Gulfport; two sons, James ""Jimmy"" McAtee (Julie) of Biloxi, and Leonard McAtee of Gulfport; seven grandchildren, Candy Champagne (Jeremy) of Ocean Springs, Terri Kenney and Tiffany Mamer-Cox (Jason) of Rockford, IL, Dawn Ellis (Ryan) of Gulfport, Melissa Collins (Neal) of Pensacola, FL, and Austin McAtee of Biloxi; and six great grandchildren, Ashlee, Kerrigan, Zachary, Emily, Connor, and Kaleigh.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 4-6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
