Mary Lynn Oeschger, a beloved member of Brookdale Senior Living community and a dedicated nursing professional, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024, in Biloxi, Mississippi. She reached the age of 67, leaving behind a legacy of care, compassion, and commitment to her work and family.
Born to David C. Oeschger, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Fullwood Oeschger, Mary graduated from Harrison Central High School in 1975. She pursued her passion for nursing, attending the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her Registered Nurse degree in 1978. Her career spanned an impressive 43 years, during which she worked at Singing River Hospital and later at Memorial Hospital of Gulfport. Mary’s dedication to her profession was evident in her unwavering commitment to the well-being of her patients.
Mary cherished the memories of traveling with her parents, exploring new places and cultures. In her leisure time, she found joy in her beloved pets and had a passion for sewing and cooking, often sharing her culinary creations with friends and family.
She is survived by her sister, Gretchen (David) Cozby; her brother, David Charles Oeschger, Jr.; her aunt, Marie Fullwood; her uncle, Harvey Hill; her golden girl crew, Iris, Susan, and Cathy; along with her dear friends, Mike and Selena Brom and Michael Brom.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, David C. Oeschger, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Fullwood Oeschger, as well as her grandparents John and Margaret Oeschger and several aunts and uncles, including Robert Oeschger, Nancy Hill, Marvin Fullwood, Len (Edie) Fullwood, Leroy Fullwood, JoJo Fullwood, and Lewis Herbert (Anne) Fullwood.
The family would like to thank the staff from Brookdale Senior Living center and the Notre Dame staff. In lieu of flowers Mary wanted donations to be made to the Harrison County Humane Society in her honor.
