Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lingenfelder, age 68 of Biloxi, MS, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Monday October 21, 2024.

She was born on February 5th 1956 in Eldorado, Arkansas. Growing up, she was known by family and friends as Mary Beth, and over time became known as Elizabeth. She enjoyed music. She played handbells in the Methodist Church, the piano and received a violinist scholarship in college. She sang in the church choir throughout her life.

Elizabeth met her husband Mike, who was in the Air Force, on a blind date while she was pursuing a bachelors in English to teach. After they married, she converted to Catholicism. Elizabeth had a love for Jesus in the Eucharist and had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, praying the rosary daily. She was involved in the Cursillo Movement of South Mississippi, as well as an active member of the Knights of Columbus 1583 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas of St. Mary in Woolmarket and engaged in various ministries of the church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Linden David Bentley and Hilda Wicker Bentley.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Michael (Mike) Lingenfelder; her daughter, Katherine Michelle Lingenfelder; and her brother, David Allen Bentley.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 8343 Woolmarket Rd, Biloxi, MS, reception to follow after. Burial will be private at a later date in Yazoo City, MS.

 The family would like to thank SAAD Home Health Care and Hospice for their love and care of Mrs. Lingenfelder and support for the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi Vocations. Checks may be made out to Diocese of Biloxi and mailed to Diocese of Biloxi Vocations Office 1790 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
