Mary was born in Blackshear, GA on August 6, 1941. Upon graduating high school, she moved to Jacksonville Fl, where she met her soon to be husband. She relocated to Gulfport and married her loving husband of 49 years. She enjoyed their time together looking for local spots to try their luck at fishing and occasional crabbing from local piers. One of her passions was cooking and her special was making Gumbo for the holidays. She was also known to fry fresh mullet at midnight. She had lots of recipes but rarely followed them exactly and her meals always tasted great. She enjoyed working with ceramics and opened a small ceramics shop with her mother-in-law. She also enjoyed making macrameÌ planters and sharing them with friends and family. She always looked forward to spending time with her children and grandchildren. She spent many years volunteering with Orange Grove youth sports and Scouting activities for her three children. She was immensely proud of each of them. As college was approaching for her children, Mary obtained her real-estate license and worked more than 20 years as an agent before retiring. She earned agent of the year honors and belonged to the millionaire club.
Mary was especially close to her sisters. A visit from her sisters brought plenty of laughter and smiles all around. She looked forward to yearly family reunions in Blackshear and traveling to destination vacations with all of her siblings. Mary was a loving wife, giving mother, incredible grandmother, beloved sister, and wonderful friend to all who knew her. Her loving husband and best friend of 49 years will sadly miss her.
