Mrs. Mary Louise Hartman King, age 93, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Stone County Nursing Center.
Mrs. King was born in Crawford, MS, to Henry Pope and Margaret Nance Hartman. She spent her early life in Crawford, and after marrying Joe J. King, Jr., lived for many years in Swan Lake, MS and Columbus, MS. She moved to the Coast and lived with her daughter and son-in-law for 17 years until relocating to assisted living in Hattiesburg, MS, following Hurricane Katrina.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her son, Joe J. King, III; and her brother, Richard P. Hartman.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret King Plummer, and her husband Joe, of Gulfport; grandchildren, Paul J. Harkins (Kelsi) of Little Rock, AR, Matthew T. Harkins (Stephanie), Melissa Plummer Horne (Cliff), and Joey Plummer (Alisha), all of Gulfport; great grandchildren, Laurel Anne Harkins, Mary McKenna Harkins, Lynn Elise Harkins, Holland Harkins, Houston Harkins, Jackson Harkins, Ava Riley Harkins, Thomas Horne, Laney Horne, Olivia Plummer, and Joseph T. Plummer, III. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Esther Marsh of Somerville, TN.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, MS, at 2:00 p.m.
