Mary A. Wehrman Johnson

Mary Wehrman Johnson, age 80 of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, surrounded by her loving sons and family.

Mary is a native of Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Siena Catholic College of Tennessee with a degree in education. With over 30 years of experience, Mary was a dedicated educator. She began her career in the Baltimore Public School System before transferring to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Biloxi, MS. She loved arts and crafts, making holiday wreaths for all seasons and the people she cared for the most, and celebrating the holidays with her family. Mary loved to sing, was in the choir for many years, and enjoyed music and karaoke. She had the largest porcelain doll collection in South Mississippi, loved Mardi Gras, Cruisin’ The Coast, and made sure she traveled to see the Beach Boys every year.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dolores Wehrman; and a brother Douglas Wehrman.

Mary is survived by her sons, Timothy Johnson and Torrey (Kathy) Johnson; her grandchildren, Chase and Caitlyn Johnson; her brother, Sonny (Michelle) Wehrman, sister, June (Terry) Bounds, and many nieces and nephews along with many other loving relatives and close friends. She will be deeply missed by those of us who knew and loved her dearly.

A funeral service will be held in her honor at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport, MS, on Friday, February 17, 2023.  Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral - Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m.
