Mary Henley Ladner

Mary Henley Ladner, age 92 of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 65 years, Stanford L. Ladner; her parents, Raymond and Etta Henley and all her siblings.

Mary is survived by her children, John Lee Ladner and Kevin (April) Ladner.

She was born in Tennessee but would finish her schooling years in Philadelphia, PA. Following high school graduation, Mary met Stanford Ladner, the love of her life, and married at an early age. Stanford served in the United States Navy which led them to move to San Diego from Pennsylvania where they resided in the 50s. Following San Diego, they moved to Annapolis, Maryland where Stan was a Naval Instructor. While in Annapolis, Mary studied to become a teacher and would continue teaching when they moved to Gulfport. She taught at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Gulfport for many years and was a devoted member of the church. Mary loved arts and crafts. She enjoyed working on the Nativity Scene that she made for St. Marks.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Ladner Family Cemetery.
