Mary E. Gilsinan, a beloved happy homemaker, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, at the age of 69. She was born on August 11, 1954, in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Mary led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable.
In her earlier years, Mary received her education at Ridgewood High School in New Jersey. Known for her vibrant personality, Mary was always full of surprises. She learned to drive standard on an M.G. Midget and later showcased her courage by driving tractor trailers cross country. She became affectionately known as the "Kool-Aid Mom" for her unwavering positivity and infectious smile that brightened the lives of everyone she met.
Mary's legacy extends beyond her accomplishments to the cherished memories she created with those around her. Her husband of 40 years, William T. Gilsinan II, was enamored by her from the moment they met. Mary's daughter Maura Gilsinan and son William T. Gilsinan III will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. She is also survived by her brothers William Ward (Louise) and Christopher Ward (Mary).
Mary E. Gilsinan will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by her grandchildren Aidan Newcomb and Phoenix Gilsinan, whose lives she enriched with love and joy.
Mary was preceded in death by her father James J. Ward, mother Yvonne Ward, and brother James Anthony Ward.
The impact of Mary's vibrant presence will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services to honor and celebrate Mary's life will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home - West Jackson County (13872 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi, MS 39532). Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., with the Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
On Monday, August 5, Mary will be laid to rest at Biloxi National Cemetery. A Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home at 11:45 a.m. going to the cemetery for the Committal Service at 12:30 p.m.
Mary's impact on those around her is immeasurable, and the love she shared will live on eternally in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
