Mary Catherine Friedrich, age 83, passed away on September 2, 2023, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born on December 22, 1939, in Newburg, Maryland, Mary Catherine touched the lives of those around her with her radiant spirit and unwavering kindness.

Throughout her life, Mary Catherine found joy in many pursuits. As a loving spouse to Franz T. Friedrich for an impressive 68 years, she exemplified the beauty of commitment and devotion. She was a doting mother to her children Wanda Sturman and husband Brian, Karl Friedrich and wife Danette, Alan Friedrich and wife Debbie, and Donna Melton and husband Tommy. Mary Catherine's role as a mother not only brought her fulfillment but also shaped the lives of her children with love and guidance.

Mary Catherine is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Christopher Melton, Branden Melton, Kristen Friedrich, Michael Friedrich, Alec Friedrich, Danielle Sturman, Brian Sturman, Jr., Megan McDaniel, Lauren Friedrich and Ryan Friedrich; and ten great-grandchildren, Mason Melton, Millie Claire Melton, Ryken Melton, Bayleigh Melton, Shelden Melton, Trevor Friedrich, Noah Harper, James McDaniel, Joel McDaniel and Juliet McDaniel; and by other loving family members, Skip Williams, David Williams, Ricky Williams, Stevie Williams, Janet Ritter, Sandra Gragan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Altemus and John M. Williams, and also by her sister, Edna Mae Thompson and her brother, John Williams. 
 
Mary Catherine had a fruitful and productive life. She was a loving spouse, doting mother and a generous & compassionate grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked as a dental assistant and she was an outstanding cook / baker, an avid gardener and a gifted decorator. She had a great sense of humor and loved to travel. Despite our loss, we will forever remember her beauty & wisdom. Love you forever mom, Merv, Cobb Island Kitty.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the family residence located at 18315 Robinwood Drive, Saucier, Mississippi 39574. Family and friends will gather to honor Mary Catherine's life at 1:00 p.m.
