Mary Ellen Ferrier, born on September 23, 1947, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Joseph and Joyce (nee Fetter) Ferrier, sadly passed away on September 1, 2023, in Waveland, MS. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Mary Ellen's journey on this earth may have ended tragically in a house fire, but her impact and warm spirit will forever be remembered.
Mary Ellen was a woman of great personality and love for her family. She cherished every moment spent with her great-grandchildren and found immense joy in their company. Her nurturing nature and kind heart were evident in the way she cared for them.
One of Mary Ellen's greatest passions was being outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and working in her garden brought her immeasurable happiness. She had a deep appreciation for nature and found solace in its beauty. In addition to her love for the outdoors, Mary Ellen was an avid sports fan. Football, baseball, basketball - she enjoyed them all her New Orleans Saints. Every game day was an opportunity for excitement and cheering.
Mary Ellen also had a playful side that occasionally led her to the local casino for some entertainment and fun. Taking a chance now and then brought laughter into her life as she tried her luck at various games.
Mary Ellen's legacy continues through her surviving family members who hold on tightly to the memories they created together. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Mark) Wallgren Sr., grandson Mark Wallgren Jr, grandson Kelly Wallgren, Cori (Reba) Chadwick, granddaughter Amanda (Cydney) White, and grandson Joseph 'Joe' White. They will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.
Additionally, she is survived by her brother Richard (Betty Jane) Ferrier, sister-in-law Betty Ann Ferrier and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews will forever hold onto the love and memories shared with her. Her genuine kindness and love for her family and friends made her a pillar of strength for those around her.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Sharon (nee Smith) White, her parents, and a brother Ronald Ferrier.
Mary Ellen Ferrier lived a life full of love, joy, and passion. Her compassionate nature touched the lives of many, and she will always be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind cherished memories within a large circle of family and friends who were lucky enough to have been touched by her presence. May her soul find eternal peace as she watches over those she loved from above.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
