Mary Elizabeth Dardar, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 25, 2023, in Slidell, Louisiana. She was born on October 30, 1946, to William Sutton and Gloria Zimmer.

Mary had a diverse career that reflected her passion for helping others. She worked as a Special Education Teacher Assistant, where she made a significant impact on the lives of many students. Her dedication to education was commendable, and she played a vital role in supporting the educational needs of children with special needs. Mary also served as an Administrative Office Assistant, bringing her organizational skills and attention to detail to various workplaces. Additionally, she had previously been a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing care and compassion to those in need.

Mary's commitment to education extended beyond her professional life. She earned an associate degree in special education and held a Certified Nursing Assistant degree. These qualifications allowed her to make an even greater difference in the lives of those she served.

Outside of her career, Mary found joy in several hobbies and interests. She cherished spending time with loved ones and friends at the Senior Center, enjoying their company and creating lasting memories. Mary also took pleasure in challenging herself with crossword puzzles and relishing delicious meals while dining out with her family.

Family held a special place in Mary's heart. She was married to Robert Dardar for 33 years, creating countless memories together as they navigated life side by side. Mary's love for her children was immeasurable. Gloria Ramirez (Crystal), Nora Oriol (Patrick), and Jonathan Genna (Katie) were fortunate to have such a caring and devoted mother who supported them through every milestone and challenge. Mary is also survived by her sister, Freda Liner; brother-in-law Steve Ferlita; grandchildren, Jessica Gauthreaux (Jeremy), Dominic Oriol (Paula), Madison Oriol, Abigale Ramsay (Chris), Payton Genna, Mallory Genna, Grace Genna, Reese Genna, Ella Genna, Bryce Genna, and Jada Genna, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their families. She is preceded in death by her father William Sutton, mother Gloria Zimmer, brother,  Christian Zimmer, sister, Vida Ferlita, and granddauther Jennifer Ramirez.

Mary's memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends. Her kind-hearted nature and unwavering love will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we gather to mourn her loss and celebrate her life, a Funeral Service will take place on December 2, 2023. The service will commence at 4:00 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home - Pass Christian located at 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd, Pass Christian MS 39571.

Mary Elizabeth Dardar lived a life filled with warmth and compassion. Her dedication to education and love for her family were the foundation of her remarkable journey. Though she may no longer be with us physically, her spirit will continue to guide us as we carry on her legacy of love and kindness.
