Mary Jacqueline Cuevas, age 77, of Pass Christian, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018, at her home with family and devoted caretaker, Joann Burdine, by her side. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother of the Christian faith who went to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Welton Cuevas; her parents, Martha and Arthur Koenenn; son-in-law, Tommy Brown; sisters-in-law, Karen Koenenn and Lillie Mae (Andrew) Moran; brothers-in-law, Renaldo Cuevas, Lacy (Lois) Cuevas, Wilton (Azell) Cuevas, Milton (Pansy) Cuevas, and Jimmy Dale Cuevas.
Jacqueline is survived by her three children, Myra Brown, Kelton (Madelaine) Cuevas, and Donnette (Kendall) Necaise; grandchildren, Whitney (Brent) McCardle, Thomas Brown, Tyler (Tabatha) Brown, Elyse Brown the love of her life, Kendon Necaise, Levi and Patrick Cuevas; great grandchildren, Mason and Paisley McCardle, Noelani and Wyatt Brown; her brothers, Donald Koenenn and Thomas (Linda) Koenenn; sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Harris) Ladner and Minnie Lou Cuevas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Jacqueline taught school for 36 years, a few at Hancock and D'Iberville, and over 30 years at Harrison Central High School. She dedicated her life to family first. She always put everyone's needs before hers and made certain that those in need had something. She enriched and nourished many lives at the numerous roles she took on. She was a beloved Matriarch to the community and family that she loved and cherished.
A special thank you to Tyler, Tabi, Madelaine, and Joann, who made it possible for her to live at her home and enjoy life.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln-DeLisle Rd. Pass Christian, MS from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10:00am where family and friends can visit from 9:00am-10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
