Mary Coolidge Cissna

December 22, 1916 — November 14, 2010

Mary Coolidge Cissna, 93, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010, in Fort Myers, Florida.
She was born December 22, 1916, on Signal Mountain, Tennessee, to her parents Walter Parlin Coolidge and Grace McCracken Coolidge. Mary attended Wesleyan College and worked at the family owned Chattanooga Printing and Engraving Company until her marriage in 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Volney Judson Cissna, Jr.; her brother Walter Parlin Coolidge, Jr.; and her parents.
Mary is survived by her two daughters Susan Hancock and her husband Donald of Kenner, Louisiana, and Mary Louise Hill and her husband David of Fort Myers, Florida; her brother Charles Henry Coolidge and her brother-in-law Charles Cissna and his wife Virginia all from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She is also survived by three grandchildren Katherine Hancock, Michael Hill, and Robin Hinson and her husband Chad; three great-grandchildren Carter, Kiley, and Cameron Hinson of Orlando, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary attended Pineville Presbyterian Church and was an active member of the community. She loved playing bridge and played as often as four days a week. Her family and friends will dearly miss her for all the joy and happiness she brought into our lives. Her strength and determination in rebuilding on the coast after Katrina symbolized her true pioneer spirit.
There will be a visitation from 12:00 to 1:00PM on Friday, November 19, 2010, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport.
A graveside ceremony will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 P.M.
