Mary Elizabeth Braun, 87, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away April 6, 2011 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Braun was born on January 18, 1924 in Phenix City Alabama to Dolly Jane Hamlin and Noah Auguste Collier, and was one of three sisters and five brothers, who all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John Joseph Braun; daughters, Susan Havens (Leo Ladner) of Long Beach and Carol Howard (David) of Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law, Robert Braun of Graysville, Ohio; six grandchildren: Rick, Andy, Shannon, Tracie, Tanya and Kristen; nineteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
The Brauns were married on April 14, 1942. During World War II, Mrs. Braun worked for as a ""Rosie the Riveter"" at Warner Robins Field in Macon, GA. Mr. and Mrs. Braun bravely weathered many storms throughout their life together, not the least of which was Hurricane Katrina. They bravely reestablished their home as the center of their large, loving family.

A private graveside service will take place at Long Beach Cemetery. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Long Beach is handling the arrangements.
