Mary Carmelita Blake, 94, of Gulfport passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Gulfport.
Carmie as know to her many friends and family was born in Philedelphia, PA and raised in Point Pleasant, NJ moving to Gulfport with her husband and children in 1945. She was a retired registered nurse and a graduate of South Balto General Hospital, School of Nursing, Baltimore, MD. She worked the majority of nursing career showing loving care and support for patients at Memorial Hospital, Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Blake.
Survivors include four sons, John G. Blake, Jr. of Bakersfield, CA, Robert Blake of Gulfport, Peter Blake of Gulfport and Stephen Blake of Houma, LA; one sister, Sr. Carmelita OP of the Dominican Order of Nuns; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grand children.
The Rosary will be held at 10:00 am with visitation following from 10:30 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am, on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
The family prefers memorials to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or The American Cancer Society.
