Marybeth Jones, age 81, of Biloxi, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Marybeth Jones to many, Granny Jones to her grandchildren, mom/mother to her children, was born in Yazoo City, MS on April 11, 1940, to the late Robert V. Luby, Sr. and Sadie M. White Luby.

Marybeth was an exceptional lady. She was talented and spent most of her time either taking care of her family or taking care of the church and always put others first. She could design and sew beautiful clothes. Her appearance was very important to her. She could play the piano like no other, and her beautiful singing voice was a gift she used to regularly honor and glorify her Lord and Savior. Marybeth made and decorated beautiful cakes (birthday, wedding and others), she crocheted many blankets, doilies, etc, and she was an absolutely wonderful cook who kept her family fed, including the wildlife. Marybeth always tried to find the good in everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Jones, Sr. of Biloxi; and her parents, Robert V. Luby and Sadie M. White Luby of Yazoo City.

Marybeth is survived by her sons, Tommy D. Jones Jr., (Carlie), Terry L. Jones (Stacy) both from D’Iberville; daughters; Sharon K. Bledsoe (Ralph), Lisa Neal (Bodie) both from Pensacoula, FL; 5 grandchildren, Charles G. Neal, Tirzah K. Nall, Tara M. Jones, Carissa Foote, Justin L. Jones; 11 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Bettye L. Davis of Oxford, MS, and Robert V. Luby, Jr of Yazoo City, MS.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts to Central Baptist Church of Gulfport, MS, % Sharon Bledsoe/Treasurer, 312 ½ N. 75th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32506, where she served faithfully for more than 55 years. She was the last surviving charter member of Central Baptist.

Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.”

We love you mom; you will truly be missed.
