Mary Kay Barrett, age 79, of Long Beach, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in Gulfport.
She was a native of Fairmont, West Virginia and lived on the coast most of her life. She served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later retired from the VA Hospital after 30 years of service. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Gulfport and she was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, needlework, and had a special love for animals.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery K. Morse, her parents, James and Virginia Police, a brother, James Police, and a sister, Martha Savio.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Tom Barrett, a son, Thomas Barrett, Jr. and his wife Dana, a daughter-in-law, Terri Morse, 1 sister, Patricia Ann McCance, and 2 grandchildren, Taylor Morse, and Sage Barrett.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. Friends may visit from 10 - 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
