Marvalyne M. Nix, age 95, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 in Gulfport, MS.
Mrs. Nix was born December 16, 1913 in Andalucia, AL. She was a resident of Gulfport for over 69 years and a member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport for that same length of time.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Pirvy; her parents, J.W. and Cora Lee Mack; and two brothers, Maurice and Orville Mack.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Simmons (Frank) and grandson, Kyle Simmons, all of Gulfport; granddaughter, Wendi Hill (Jerry) and great-granddaughters, Kara and Kalyn Hill, all of Gulfport; grandson, Brent Craig (Tammy) and great-granddaughter, Shelby Craig, all of North Carolina; step-sister, Alice Jean West; and step-brother, Marlyn Mack, both of Alabama.
Her life was a tribute of her love of God first and her family. She was the epitome of God's love and faith and a true southern lady.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
