Marty E. Kemmer, age 42, of Gulfport, passed away on August 14, 2011, in Gulfport.
Marty graduated from Harrison Central High School in 1986 and attended USM Hattiesburg where he obtained degrees in Acting and Directing and Photo Journalism. While attending USM Marty knew he had a knack for acting and changed his major to Theater. During his time in Theater he was in many plays including ""Greater Tuna"" which he traveled to different cities to perform. During college he did some professional acting and performed for 4 consecutive summers in the play ""Lost Colony"" in Maneto, NC.
Marty was also an artist and even had a small layout for Marvel Comics. He wrote and produced his own music and played the keyboard, guitar, and various horns.
Currently, Marty was working as an Auditor in a local hotel. He had a special love for animals, especially cats. He also made sure the coons had something to nibble on in his back yard.
Marty was preceded in death by his father, Norman M. Kemmer; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Martin; and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Kemmer.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Kemmer; his brother, Mitch Kemmer and his wife Joy Kemmer; two nieces, Dallas and Maggie Kemmer; and two nephews, Leko and Norman Kemmer, III.
Marty was an all around exceptional person who will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 8:00 PM, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, with visitation two hours prior to service.
