Martin Louis Van Benthuysen, age 59 of Kiln, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021.
Martin was a native of Indianapolis, IN, he was a heavy equipment operator for Waste Management. Martin was an avid fisherman and hunter which he enjoyed with his wife, Melissa. He was a big fan of NASCAR and was a very big fan of Jeff Gordon #24. He could always tell a good story and keep you laughing. Martin had a very big heart an would do anything for anyone.
Martin was preceded in death by his father, Raymond L. Van Benthuysen; his brother, Michael R. Van Benthuysen; and his stepfather, Tay Guilmino.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 7 years, Melissa Van Benthuysen; his mother, Carol Guilmino; his stepchildren, Courtney (Kelly) Ross, James (Gabs) Good, Joey (Jessica) Harrison; his siblings, Mark (Jeanne) Van Benthuysen, Melinda Nolan; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Matt, and Abby; his many stepbrothers, stepsisters, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for all their love and care also, Dr. Hightower, all oncology, infusion teams, Dr. Barbara Higgins and all the Memorial team.
A celebration of life will be held on a later date.
