Martha Young

Martha Barbee Young, age 71, passed away on December 3, 2020, in Gulfport, MS. Martha was a native of Lula, MS. She moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast from Memphis, Tennessee in 2004. Martha graduated in the Class of ‘67 at the Coahoma County High School then attended Delta State College for 2 years. She was a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines starting in 1969 and retired after 37 years. Martha was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Choir and the hand bell choir.Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Young; her father, William L. Barbee; and her brother, Bill Barbee and his wife Deena.Martha is survived by her mother, Bobbie Barbee; her step daughter, Janna; her brothers, Walter Barbee of Gulfport, MS, Bob Barbee (Iwanna) of Madison, MS, and Jim Barbee (Diana) of Madison, MS; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.Funeral services will be held on at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Parkway Baptist Church, Woolmarket. Visitation will be held on hour prior to services. Burial will follow and will be limited to 20 family members at Biloxi National Cemetery.
