Martha Scofield

Martha Thompson Scofield, age 82, of Gulfport, was carried on Angel’s wings to the Lord Jesus Christ on November 19, 2021.

Martha graduated from Gulfport High School in 1957.  She  married Carlie Scofield in May 1957 and started a family in 1958 with the birth of her daughter Stacey and was blessed with a son a few years later, Scott, in 1962.  Martha and Carlie had 52 years of wonderful marriage.

Martha was a devoted wife and mother dedicating her life to her family and raising her children in a Godly home.  She was very active in PTO, football booster club, and church.  Besides assisting special events and occasions at school, Martha was also involved in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and hosting bible studies in her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlie Scofield; and her parents, Lurose and Stephen Thompson.

She is survived by her son, Scott Scofield and a daughter, Stacey Fredericks and her husband, Craig; two grandsons, Justin Fredericks and Matt Fredericks; the special extended family that touched her heart in immeasurable ways is Pam Sevel and Holly Henderson whom she felt were daughters and Chasie Moses, Jr that she felt was a grandson to her.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. At 2 pm in Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
