Martha Elena Oswalt, age 68, of Gulfport, passed away on February 20, 2023.

She was a resident of Gulfport for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas Bourguetts and Francisca I. Storm.

Martha is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Robert A. Oswalt; mother-in-law, Dorothy Oswalt of Jackson; her brothers, Francisco A. Bourguetts of Gulfport, Luis R. Bourguetts (Angelica) of Mexico and Jaime E. Bourguetts (Delia) of Mexico; her sister, Irma L. Bourguetts of Gulfport; sister-in-law Brenda Perry of Jackson; her nieces, Dulce LeBlanc (Jeffery) of Long Beach, and Claudia Bourguetts (Sergio); nephew, Luis E. Bourguetts (Trini) of Pennsylvania; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in Mexico.

Martha was born in Puebla, Mexico on September 25, 1954. She is the second oldest of five children. She studied and worked as a Registered Nurse in Mexico also, worked for a short time in Northern Mississippi. Later she went back to school and studied to be a Licensed Nail Technician. She was employed at Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis before Hurricane Katrina. Martha was also the beloved "Dippity Doo Fairy" at Dippity Doo Spa in Edgewater Mall.

Martha was had bright and bold personality and was the center of every room. She loved fiercely and deeply. She was her family's biggest cheerleader in whatever they did. Martha loved fashion and was not afraid to express herself with a crazy bold outfit, hat, or Blue Hair! Martha loved art and art history. She was very creative and loved to try new things.

To know Martha was to truly LOVE Martha.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospice. The love and grace that was showered on her was truly felt in every moment.

As you soar above the clouds, I hope that the world is everything you ever dreamed it would be Tia. Gracias por todo el amor que nos diste Yaya.
