Martha E. ""Polly"" Lehnig, age 87, of Biloxi, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010, in Biloxi.
She was born in Columbus, GA and traveled the world with Husband, who was in the U.S. Army, and their children. She lived a majority of her adult life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Polly was District Manager for Shoe City in Gulfport. She volunteered for the American Red Cross beginning in 1964 and she also volunteered at Keesler Air Force Base for many years. She was a member of Leggett Memorial United Methodist Church, Biloxi. Polly was Vice Queen of the Red Hat Society. She loved playing golf, spending time with her family, and being around people.
Mrs. Lehnig was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Ira Lehnig; and her parents, Albert and Edna Williams.
Survivors include her children, Claude Lam (Lynn), Dona Lehnig Beard, Glenda Lehnig Carter; her siblings, Margaret Cannon, Alberta Sapanos, Johnny Williams, Robert Williams; her grandchildren, Tammy, Teresa, Tracy (Mark), Kenneth (Michele), Kimberly, Ashley, Joel, Jr. (Jennifer), John (Corrina), Jake (Misty), and Christina; and her great grandchildren; Stephanie, Shanon, Corey, Patrick (Shaylyn), Jessica, Cheyenne, Jordin, David, Sierra, Garrett, Mia, Joel, III, Georgia, and Ava.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 17, 2010 at Seashore United Methodist Assembly.
Burial will take place at a later date at Mobile National Cemetery.
