Marta Pierce

Marta Stella Chanis de Pierce, affectionately known as Mimi, went to join her Lord and her beloved husband on December 21st.

She died peacefully in her sleep. Martita was born in Panama City, Panama to Marta Lainfiesta Chanis and Dr. Rolando Chanis. Martita devoted her life to lifting others through her words and her many kind actions. All were welcome in her home where she bravely hosted homecoming float construction for hundreds of high schoolers as well as thousands of other happy gatherings, taking an interest in each person’s life. Martita was President of the Medical Auxiliary, Friends of the Saenger, Gulfport Yacht Club Auxiliary, KNS Theatre, Riviera Productions, and too many parent/teacher associations to count. She was also the Long Beach Carnival Queen Rosalie 1972.
She was a mother of four, but a mom to thousands. She truly loved each of you. Martita never met a stranger, loving fiercely and living joyously.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Patrick Pierce, and granddaughter Katherine Grace Wolf.

She is survived by six siblings: Rolando Chanis, Daniel Chanis, Sandra Chanis, Olga Ferrara, Gilda Crespo, and Marelisa Pages. Martita has four loving daughters: Lisa Guyton (Jimmy), Sandra Boddie (George), Stella Wolf (David), and Vanessa Rodriguez (Jose). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Alex Guyton (Helen), Jenny Guyton (Dan O’Brien), Cliff Guyton, Nathan Boddie (Amy), Sarah Robbins (Jimmy), Pierce Boddie, Daniel Wolf, Victoria Wolf, Isabel Wolf, Sebastian Rodriguez, and Isaac Rodriguez. Her great grandchildren are: Louie Guyton, Gracie Guyton, Hazel Boddie, Isla Boddie, Lily Robbins, and Ridge Robbins.
