Marshall Lavoughn Plunkett, age 80, of Saucier, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at home with his family by his side.
Mr. Plunkett was born in Newton, MS to Rev. O.I. and Willie Louise Pruitt Plunkett. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war, he started his scrap metal business, which became a lifelong business here on the Coast and included Plunkett Scrap Metal, Coast Recycling and United Scrap Metal. He also was the owner of Carolyn's Mobile Home Park and Coastal Mobile Home Park. He enjoyed fishing, boating and building and flying model airplanes. He loved spending time with this family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Dale Plunkett; brothers, Sterling Plunkett and A.G. Plunkett.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carolyn Enroth Plunkett of Saucier; children, Carol Plunkett Moser of Water Valley, MS and Linda Dianne Plunkett of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Jacob Plunkett, Lorin Moser, Tristan Plunkett, and Emilee Moser; Godchildren, Mandy Baker and Brandy Bowen; and the Enroth, Keesee, and Hudson families.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Funeral services will take place in the funeral home chapel at 4:30 p.m.
Burial will follow at Coalville Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Ronnie Bilbo, Brea Smith, Sandi McMillan, Dorothy Cruthirds of TLC, Odyssey Hospice, the staff at the VA Hospital, the MHG doctors, and the caring staff on 4C at Memorial Hospital for their love and care.
