Julius Marshall King, age 99 of Woolmarket, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his parents, LillieLee and Leonard King; his sister, Janelle Gordon; and his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Lee “Judy” King, all of Woolmarket.
Marshall is survived by his brother, Dennis King; his daughters, Debbie Schombert, Lisa Krol (Randy),; his granddaughter, Ciana Schombert “Pooter”; and many nieces, nephews, and very close friends.
He attended and graduated as one of eight in his class at Woolmarket school in 1945. He went on to study diesel mechanics and worked at Beach Cycle in Gulfport for many years before starting his own lawn care business, serving numerous customers on the coast.
Marshall loved to travel. He visited fifty of our countries’ states, excluding Alaska and Hawaii. He also traveled to Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
He was a lifelong resident of Three Rivers Road in Woolmarket, where he and his wife hosted The King’s Christmas Display for many years.
Marshall was a member of Cedar Lake Global Methodist Church and Palmer Creek Methodist Campground. He was proud to be a member of The Knights Templar in Gulfport, and Grand York Rite Bodies of MS. He was a sixty-two year member of The Order of The Eastern Star, and a 33° Master Mason of Polar Star, serving for 66 years.

Also a special thank you to Marshall’s nurses, Brittany Nguyen and Katie Sullinger, who he loved. Thanks to all his family, friends, and church family for the cards, phone calls, prayers, and visits. Mrs. Karen Sherlock, “Thank you”, for answering the numerous daily calls just to check in “to see if you know anything, good or bad? Everyone’s alright as far as I know…alright, I’ll let ya go and look at you later…I love y’all.”
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Marshall’s name to Cedar Lake Global Methodist Church or Palmer Creek Methodist Campground.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Cedar Lake Methodist Church, 12332 Cedar Lake Road, Biloxi, MS 39532. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, at the church, followed by interment at Cedar Lake Methodist Church Cemetery.
