Marlene Hicks, age 72, and a resident of Long Beach, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 in Biloxi.
Marlene was a native of Sigourney, Iowa and had been a resident of the MS Gulf Coast since 1968. She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked at the Naval Home and the Navy Exchange. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Long Beach, where she was active in the Oaks Club. She enjoyed working with her rose garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John LeRoy Kerkove and Addie Louise Kerkove; and her brother, James Kerkove.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 49 years, Paul E. Hicks of Long Beach; three children, David M. Hicks (Ann) of Alabaster, AL, Douglas Hicks (Pamela) of Long Beach, and Tammy Clinkscales (Cornell) of Long Beach; six brothers; four sisters; and eight grandchildren, Aaron Hicks, Mathew Hicks, Rachel Hicks, Sara Hicks, Nicholas Hicks, Neal Hicks, Jessica Johnson and Amber Johnson.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 from 6 until 8 p.m. at THE RIEMANN FAMILY'S Riemann Funeral Home, Hwy 49 North, Gulfport. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27 in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at the National Cemetery in Biloxi.
