Marjorie K. Taylor

Marjorie K. Taylor, age 81, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Cape Girardeau, MO on March 10, 1931 but was a 52 year resident of the MS Gulf Coast and Long Beach. She drove a school bus for 21 years for Long Beach Schools before her retirement. She helped start the LB Girls Softball League in 1972 and was actively involved as a coach, mom, grandmother, friend, mentor, and concession stand manager until 2006. She touched many girls' lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Knaup, and a brother, Richard Knaup, Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, A.D. Taylor, her 5 children, Chris Taylor, Mark (Theresa) Taylor, Rebecca (Elmer) Mullins, Michael Taylor, and Maria (Clint) Ladner, a brother, John F. (Ann) Knaup, 10 grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Cari (Nick) Taylor, Meredith Taylor, Mike (Amanda) Taylor, Jason (Nicole) Taylor, Amanda (Chris) Forehand, Meghan (Richard) Mullins, Ashley Mullins, Kody Ladner, and Austin Dedeaux, 3 great-grandchildren, Jacob Taylor, Aiden Taylor, and Matthew Forehand, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 29, 2012, from 5 - 7 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, March 30, 2012 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach, MS 39560. Friends may visit at the church from 10 - 11 am.
Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507 or St. Thomas Catholic Church.
