Marjorie Gartman

Marjorie Gartman went home to the Lord on March 31, 2024, at age 96. She was devoted to God and a long standing member of First Baptist Long Beach. Marjorie was dedicated to sharing the love of Christ with her family, friends, and community.

She is rejoicing in Heaven with her husband R.L. Gartman; daughter, Phyllis Cochran; granddaughter, Lautain Lott; 2 sisters; a brother; and extended family, loved ones, and friends.

Marjorie leaves behind generations of love; daughters, Debbie Malley (Henry) and Denise Shavers (Bryan). She was blessed with many grand children, great grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:00 am, Wednesday April 3, 2024 at Long Beach Baptist Church, 300 North Cleveland Avenue, Long Beach, MS 39560.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be at Long Beach City Cemetery.

Marjorie expressed her thankfulness to be saved through Jesus Christ when she was 32 years old. She left a legacy behind with her wish that her family and friends would love the Lord and follow him in faithfulness. Her hope for us is to follow Christ as said in Isaiah 26:3, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee"
