Mr. Marion C. Long, age 89, of Gulfport, died Thursday, October 08, 2009 in Gulfport.
He was a native of Burns, Kansas and had lived most of his life here on the gulf coast. He enlisted in the CCC and later the Army Air Corps during WWII. He retired from Keesler Air Force Base after 37 years and was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served with the Gideons and the Good News Prison Ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. and Pearl Long.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Mary G. Long, Gulfport, 2 sons, Edgar M. Long, and William F. Collins, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and other friends and relatives.
The funeral service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 2 - 3 pm.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
