Marion Engle

Marion Elizabeth Engle, age 90 of Long Beach, MS passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Gulfport, MS.

Mrs. Engle, affectionately known as “Nanny”, was born in Montgomery, AL on Mary 15, 1931, and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery.  She had been a resident of the MS Gulf Coast since 1965 and was a member of the Long Beach Church of Christ for 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Buddy” Engle; her parents, John and Mary Rogers; her brothers, Jack Rogers and James Rogers; her daughter, Mary McGinity; her son-in-law, Mike McGinity; and her great grandson, Tyler Leger.

Mrs. Engle is survived by her daughters, Susan DeMetz (Freddie) of Gulfport, MS and Ruth Strickland of Bay St. Louis, MS; her grandsons, Macy Hagensee (Heidi) of Prineville, OR, Michael Hagensee (Heather) of Knoxville, TN, Johnny Strickland, Jr. (Farrah) of Covington, LA, Ashley Weaver (Dean) of Carson, MS, and David DeMetz of Silver Springs, MD; twelve great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:45 PM until the graveside service at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Long Beach City Cemetery.
