Marilyn Paulette Richard

d. October 8, 2023

Gulfport

Marilyn Paulette Richard, more affectionately known as “Lynne” to everyone, has passed away at the age of 70 on October 8, 2023. Marilyn was born in Biloxi, MS on Jan 2nd, 1953, and lived most of her life on the coast of Mississippi.

Marilyn was never a stranger to anyone she met. During her time singing in her band, bartending at the Round Table Lounge, or even running the banquet department at the former Grand Casino Biloxi, she met a variety of people that would turn into lifelong friends.

Marilyn would say she is most proud of raising her children and grandchildren. Known as “Monnie”, a name given to her by her oldest grandchild, she was there for every step in their lives. Never missing an important event, she made sure each child and grandchild knew they were loved completely. She remembered every birthday and was the first to call in the morning to sing Happy Birthday.

Marilyn loved to sing, loved to cook, and was a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan. She tried her hardest to make sure the first words her grandchildren said was “Who Dat” and “Touchdown Saints.”

Marilyn is survived by her children, Beth Faul (David) and Travis Neves; her sisters Cindy Craig (Roy) and Suzanne Neese (Dewaine); her many grandchildren, Mary, Gregory, Bryan and Maggie Faul and Sophia, Claire, and Payton Neves; her great-grandchild Lainey Faul; many nieces and nephews and Travis’ father, Robert Neves.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, Marion and Mary Richard; her younger sister, Joann Fortner (Danny); and Beth’s father, Howard Killgore.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm Sunday October 22nd, 2023 at Hope Church, 2600 22nd Ave Gulfport, MS 39501. Her family requests that you share her memories with laughter, love, good food and maybe even a “Who Dat” or “Geaux Saints” chant.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
