Marilyn June Whitley Moran, May 1, 1933 - January 27, 2018
Born May 1, 1933 to the late David Daniel Whitley and Mittie Huggins in Texas. June joined her Heavenly Father, parents, seven siblings and loving husband Ray Moran, on Jan. 27, 2018.
June was a loving, gracious lady with a marvelous sense of humor, an unwavering faith and a beautiful outlook on life. She had the ability to make everyone she spoke with feel special. She loved spending time with family, even if that meant picking cotton in the hot Texas sun.
In life she enjoyed knitting, traveling, gardening, scuba diving and her Red Hat Society. She retired from Mississippi Power in 1988 and went on to create wonderful memories sharing her little piece of paradise at Moran Manor.
She is survived by her children Melinda (Mark) DeFreece, Whitley (Steve) Switzer-Kanter, Terry (Donna) Moran, Rose (Alan) Chervitz and Pat Moran, and her grandchildren Kyle DeFreece, Stevie Kanter, Max (Sierra) Chervitz, Jake Chervitz, Cole Chervitz and Tara (Julius) Bozek, who will miss her greatly.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Cottage at Bay Cove, Dr. Ginny Blalack, Kindred Hospice and Dr. Richa Gupta and her amazing staff for their care and compassion.
Services will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 with family visitation 9:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. and friends 9:30-10:50 a.m at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. The liturgical service will begin at 10:50 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at National Cemetery in Biloxi.
