Marilyn Rose LeBire

Marilyn Rose LeBire, 82 of Long Beach, MS formerly of Massena, NY and Zephyrhills, FL passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Darline House surrounded by family. She was born on January 10, 1942 in Decatur, IL to the late Jay & Sadie Ball. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 52 years, Richard “Dick” J. LeBire; grandson, Nick LeBire; and siblings, Dorothy Thacker, Jay Ball, Wayne Ball and Jimmy Ball.

Marilyn grew up in Central Illinois. Later, she moved to California, while living California this is where she met Richard, while he was stationed with the United States Marine Corps. Together they were married in August of 1960. Once, Richard was discharged from the Marine Corps they decided to move back to Upstate New York where he was originally from. Marilyn then settled with her husband and helped raise their two boys. She then started working in 1973 for the General Motors, and later worked in the restaurant business. After raising her family and her husband’s retirement, they began to snow bird to Florida for the winters. Later, they decided to make Florida their permanent home. In 2016 and after her husband’s passing, Marilyn then moved the Mississippi Gulf Coast to be near family. 

Marilyn enjoyed going out with friends and playing Bingo. She also belong to the Moose Lodge with her husband. Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marilyn is survived by her loving sons, Steven D. (Carolyn) LeBire, and Maurice (Alison) LeBire; grandchildren, Krista, Nickie, and Elisha; great grandchildren; Destiney, Jerion, Kennice, Kendall, Kelton, Carmon, and Sadie; and great great granddaughter, Vivian. Marilyn also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Her remains will be layed to rest alongside her husband at the Florida Veterans Cemetery, Bushnell.
