Mildred Marie Fry, age 77 of Pass Christian, passed away in Gulfport on December 2, 2021, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Charles Fry; her mother, Clara Irene Cupp; her brother, Michael Thomas Morgan; and her nephew, Michael Benjamin Dailey.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Westmoreland (Jim); her sister-in-law, Helen Ti Morgan; and her beloved dog, Charlie.
Marie was born in Los Angeles, CA, on April 12, 1944. Her love of travel took her all over the world and she even lived in Ireland for over 30 years. There she met Robert Fry, the love of her life. In 2003, they returned to the United States and settled in Pass Christian. It was their intent to eventually move to Belize, but those dreams were cut short when Robert passed away suddenly in December 2017.
Not only was she an avid traveler, but Marie was also a gourmet cook and enjoyed baking birthday cakes and unique treats for friends, family, and various organizations. Her loving and furry companion, Charlie, was also the lucky recipient of her special homemade canine treats!
The family would like to thank Dr. Allison Wall and her caring staff; Kare-In-Home Home Health Services; Canon Hospice; Marie’s church family at Trinity Episcopal Church; friends, Lin and Martha Burdette and the Mercy Flight program; friends, Pat and Carter Hillyer; and friends, Ken and Mona Clark. The loving, supportive care and friendship were very much appreciated by both Marie and her family.
A visitation will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 10:30-11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, Marie requested donations be made to Tired Dog Rescue, P. O. Box 10751, Gulfport 39501 (www.tiredogrescue.org) or to Mercy Flight Southeast, 8864 Airport Blvd., Leesburg, FL 34788 (www.mercyflightse.org).
