Maria Elaine Norton

Maria Elaine Norton, age 70, of Gulfport, passed away on April 18, 2024.
 
 She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Brewer Johnson and Essie Beverly Johnson.  

 She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Norton; her children, Deana Burns (Mark), Jason Norton (Betsy), and Sarah Norton; her grandchildren, Lauren Burns, Toby Norton, Brent Norton, and Caleb Norton; her sister, Fredna Cofield; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 Mrs. Norton was a homemaker and caregiver for the majority of her life.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and the beauty of nature.  Most of all, she loved her family and friends, and her church family at Community Baptist Church in Gulfport. 

 As her health declined, her kind and friendly spirit did not.  She loved people and everyone loved her.  She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.  

 Thank you to all those who prayed, supported, and cared for her and the family during the last several months. There is great comfort knowing she is now with her Heavenly Father. 

Visitation will be on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 6 - 8 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.  The funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will be in Johnson-Bethel Cemetery.
