Mrs. Margie McKay Martin, age 90, was welcomed in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
A lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Long Beach. Mrs. Martin was a retired nurse and the Matriarch of her loving family. She loved and served the Lord for her entire life and she leaves a legacy of love and strength to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Walter Martin in 1971; her daughter, Catherine Martin Pitts in 2016; her mother, father, two brothers, a sister and two grandsons.
She is survived by her loving children, Ellen Diane Pitts and Michael Martin (Tami); granddaughter, Kellie Richardson (Steve); grandchildren, Ashley Garriga, Jeffery Pitts (Fran), Chris Pitts, Matthew Martin (Melissa);and Mandie Carter (Keith); Great-grandchildren, Lauren; Nikki Triplett, Brayden Pitts; Avery and Devan Pitts; Elijah Ware; Preston and Justin Martin; Avery, Logan and Brooks Carter. She's also survived by a brother, Edgar Mckay and two sisters, Edna Stephens and Ellen Wilson, and a host of loving nieces and nephews and other family.
During her brief illness, she was surrounded by family members and knew she was loved beyond measure. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Larue Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
