Margie E. Heath, age 79, of Biloxi, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Heath was born in Neshoba County, MS in 1930, she was the wife of an Air Force service member and graduated from nursing school at MS Gulf Coast Community College in Gulfport.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; family meant everything to her
Mrs. Heath was a long-time member of Bay Vista Baptist Church in Biloxi, she retired Registered Nurse of over 20 years (1972-1993). She worked as Operating Room Supervisor at Howard Memorial Hospital and Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Biloxi. Mrs. Heath was an avid gardener with a green thumb; affection for stray cats, who loved her as much as she loved them. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling domestically and abroad.
Mrs. Heath was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald M. Heath, MSgt, USAF, retired; father, Lerner L. Herrington; brothers, Jerry W. Herrington, Paul D. Herrington, and Bobby D. Herrington.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ollie R. Herrington, of Shubuta, MS; children, Daniel R. Russell and his wife, Naomi of Long Beach, and David G. Heath and his wife, Melanie of San Antonio, TX; siblings, Rodney Herrington, of Shubuta, MS, Terry L. Herrington of Hattiesburg, and Carolyn Webster of Biloxi; grandchildren, Jeremy Russell of Long Beach, Bradley Russell of Fort Campbell, KY, and Adam Heath of San Antonio, TX; great grandchildren,Julia, Jenna, and Josie Russell of Long Beach and special family friend, Ms. Cindy Schmitt of Biloxi.
The visitation is Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
The graveside service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Laurel, MS.
The family prefers memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105; or the building fund at Woolmarket Baptist Church 12816 Lorraine Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532.
