Margaret Soukup

Margaret "Peggy" Eyler Soukup, age 87, of Gulfport, died on June 23, 2019.
Peggy was born in Villa Rica, GA, and grew up in Bristol, TN.  She graduated from Tennessee High School in Bristol and graduated from Nursing School in Savannah, GA.  Her passion was singing and performing in the theatre.  She was very involved in local Coast theatre including Wings at Lynn Meadows, Sounds of the Holidays, and the Gulfport Little Theatre where she was affectionately known as "BBFH".  She was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar Guild.  She will be remembered for her dry wit, sarcasm, and being larger than life!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Soukup; and parents, Clement Manley and Mary Candler Eyler.
She is survived by her children, Sam (Wanda) Soukup of Bush, LA, Kathryn Soukup Roberts of Sevierville, TN, Bill Soukup of Sevierville, TN, Maggie Soukup of Gulfport, and George (Sherry) Soukup of Gulfport; 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Gulfport on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from Noon until 1:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall.  Funeral services will follow in the church's Sanctuary at 1:00 p.m.
