Margaret Margie Panquerne

Margaret """"Margie"""" Faia Panquerne went home to be with her Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. She was born in New Orleans, LA on November 2, 1920.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Anna (Tedesco) Faia; her husband, Paul Joseph Panquerne; her sisters, Mae (Faia) Jourdan and Frances (Faia) Faustermann; her brother, Joe Faia; and her grandson, Sage Panquerne.
She is survived by her four children, Donald Paul Panquerne, of New Orleans, LA, Karen P. Tramuta and her husband, Rick, of Hilton Head, SC, Margaret P. Barbera and her husband, Rev. Michael, of Long Beach, and Paul Joseph Panquerne, Jr. and his wife, Kym, of Ft. Worth, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Panquerne, Jesse A Tramuta and his wife, January, Michael-Anne Tramuta Land and her husband, Jeffrey, Melody Barbera Yarborough and her husband, Andrew, Michael Barbera, Paul Chandler Panquerne, and Zsanae Panquerne;her great-grandchildren, Ethan O'Neal Land and Ella Grace Land; and her brother, Fred Faia, of Chicago, IL
In 1973, at age 52, she moved to Wesson, MS and served for 25 years as a Dormitory Hostess at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She was """"Mom,"""" counselor, friend, mentor, introducing many to Christ. She retired in 1998 and moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
""""Marnie,"""" as known by her family and closest friends, had an open heart and home that was an expression of the compassion and an extension of her love for Christ. She was an encourager, a woman of prayer and faith, and a confidant to many. Her highest purpose in life was to know Christ and to make Him known and her mission field was wherever the Lord planted her and with whomever she had contact. Her legacy of love and evangelism endures through the lives she touched. She has fought the good fight, has finished her race well, has kept the faith, and now lays hold of the prize that was set before her. She will be greatly missed.
A visitation with her family in celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at The Church of the Good Shepherd, on Espy Avenue in Pass Christian. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach, is in charge of arrangements.
