Margaret Leitz Murphy, age 87, of Long Beach, passed away on December 13, 2011 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Murphy was a native of New Orleans and had has lived on the coast for many years. She worked at the VA in the personnel department and also worked for Hancock Bank. She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Eleanora Leitz, a son, John Murphy, Jr., and a sister, Dorothy Gatipon.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Murphy, a grandson, David Murphy, a sister, Lorraine Martin, and many close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Tuesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach. Friends may visit from 10 - 11 am.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Orleans.
