Maranda Reachelle Crosby

August 8, 1975 — February 4, 2025

Gulfport

Maranda was a vibrant, fiery go-getter since she was a child. She began working as a legal secretary at Michael’s law firm at the age of 19. While working together, the two became best friends and soon fell in love. They decided to unite their families on September 14, 1999, and began their wonderful life together with their children. In the early years, Maranda loved to go dancing, take family boat trips, camping trips and vacations. Then, later in life they dedicated most of their free time to playing with their grandbabies. An enthusiast of nature, Maranda had a natural green thumb and took pride in tending to her garden. She loved all flowers and always had a vibrantly stocked vase of them in her kitchen. She was also an animal lover and enjoyed taking care of her ducks who would tap their beaks on her bedroom door every day asking for food. Each of her dogs were raised like another child. Anna Dupree, her Maltipoo, was treated like a princess.

Maranda was an endless pillar of support and the backbone to her entire family and friends. She was fiercely protective to everyone who needed her. She was the greatest champion of her friends, always their biggest advocate and most enthusiastic cheerleader. She cared deeply, not just in words but in actions – celebrating their victories, comforting them in hardships, and always taking a genuine interest in their lives. She took the time to keep up with her large family from siblings to nieces and nephews, and she never hesitated to help them with their school activities, businesses or whatever they needed. Her love was boundless, her encouragement unwavering, and her presence a constant source of warmth and joy. She didn’t just listen; she truly heard, making everyone around her feel valued and cherished.

Ultimately, the most important part of Maranda’s life was her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She dedicated her life to ensuring they were happy and healthy. She deeply cherished and poured her heart into every moment to make them feel pampered and loved. She would read with them, play with them, and was always making sure they had their favorite snacks to enjoy. She idolized them, and they idolized her. If “Maw” was around, no one else existed to her grandkids. Knox, Annie, Isaac, Phoenix, and Ellie all received true, unconditional love from her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thelma and Herbert Dedeaux; and her father, Robert Dotilla.

Maranda is survived by her husband of 25 years, Michael Crosby; her mother, Nita Faye Dotilla; her children, Kaelah Carew (Jonathan), Patrick Carew (Jourdan), Sara Crosby Juneau (Joshua) and Michael Crosby, II (Ashley); her siblings, Dustin Dotilla (Michelle) and Krystal Page; her grandchildren, Knox, Ellie, Annie, Isaac, Phoenix, Cohen and Rory; and her nieces and nephews, Dalton, Brylee and Bryar.

Maranda had the biggest heart, and she was loved by many. Her warmth and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew her. Maranda’s memory will live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, and family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
