Major Harris Keller, USAF Ret., age 76 of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021.
He was a native of Uniontown, PA and received a bachelor’s degree at West Virginia University. Harris enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and received his M.A. at Air Force Institute of Technology. While in the Air Force, he served in Vietnam and retired after 21 years of service. After his retirement from the Air Force, he also worked for Consumer Credit Counseling Services.
Preceding him in death was his father, Michael Keller; his mother, Sylvia Keller; and his brother, Leonard Keller.
Harris is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cheryl Keller; his son, Michael Keller (Nancy); his step-daughters, Alison Mills (David) and Theresa Morrow; his grandchildren, Daniel Keller, David Keller, Allison Keller, Taryn Morrow, and Madison Mills; his great granddaughter, Astoria Morrow.
He received many awards and medals during his time in the Air Force, including a meritorious service medal with oak leaf cluster, an Air Force Commendation with 3 oak leaf Clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.
Harris was a member of PHI Sigma Delta of which he was president at West Virginia University, a member of Civitan International, Society of Logistics Engineers, and a current member of MENSA. He loved pedal biker competition and had been in over 100 organized rides.
