Major Rodney Drew Williams Brock, 41, passed away October 7, 2023, in Orlando, FL.  Rodney was born in Biloxi, MS on October 16, 1981. He was a graduate of Ocean Springs High School class of 2000 and was a member of First Baptist Church, Biloxi, MS. He attended Mississippi College where he received a B.S. Political Science/ International Relations; Tulane University in New Orleans, LA where he joined ROTC.  He transferred to Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN where he received M.Ed. Curriculum Development and Instruction Magna Cum Laude.  He was a proud member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

In July 2007, Rodney commissioned as a 2LT in the United States Army.  Rodney proudly served for 16 years in the following capacities:  Platoon Leader, C Troop, 1/278th ACR where he commanded a Combat Arms Platoon in Iraq ; 2010 Company Executive Officer, B Troop 1-113 Cav in Koh-E Safi District Afghanistan; Mobilization Liaison Officer, 177th Armored Brigade at Camp Shelby, Mississippi; Course Manager, Reserve Component Engineer Captain Career Course at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Staff Engineer Officer (TAC), 890th EN BN in Gulfport, MS where he was the MacArthur Leadership Award Nominee for the state of Mississippi; Theater Security Cooperation Coordinator at US Army Central in Sumter, SC; Assistant Professor of Military Science at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM ; Commander, 381st Engineer Company in Tifton, GA; Plans Officer, 405th Civil Affairs Battalion in Salt Lake City, UT; Chief of Operations/S3, 405th Civil Affairs Battalion in Salt Lake City, UT ; Assistant S3, 360th CA BDE in Fort Jackson, SC; Graduate of the School of Advanced Military Studies, Fort Leavenworth, KS; Strategic Planner G5, Plans and Strategy at U.S. Army Cyber Command, Fort Gordon, GA.

Rodney married the love of his life, Jessica (Guidry) Brock in 2007.  They have lived in many locations across the United States while Rodney served. His proudest accomplishment in life was his family.  His wife and children were his world.  Rodney was a self-proclaimed Disney-phile.  The family would load up the car and head to Disney every chance they had. He was very passionate about Disney and loved sharing that with his friends and family. His goal in every situation was to leave it a little better than he found it. Rodney invested himself in the people he cared about. He would push himself and others to be better.  If anyone were in need, Rodney was always willing to help in whatever way he could. Rodney could and would talk to anyone about anything and never met a stranger. He loved sharing random information and called himself a wealth of useless knowledge. His passing has left a void that can never be filled, and we look forward to the day we are reunited with him again.

Rodney leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 16 years, Jessica (Guidry) Brock; his three beautiful children, Bradley Mendel of Flagler Beach, FL, Mason Brock and Olivia Brock., both of Evans, GA; his beloved parents, Jack and Peggy Brock of Biloxi, MS; brother/best friend, Stephen (Amy) Godfrey of Biloxi, MS; sister, Katie Kuhlman of Evans, GA; brothers , Cameron (Brittany) Poulos of Vancleave, MS, and Cameron (Tiffany) Kuhlman of Biloxi, MS; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
